I wanted to parody the style of old embroidery with the slogan "Home Sweet Home", punning on the abbreviation of the game Heroes of Might & Magic III, and at the same time to make some monochrome pattern with stylization for 8-bit graphics. It was pretty hard to redraw and reduce the already small pixel art of game elements, but I think I succeeded. Now this fan art banner decorate my office room. I guess the mix of embroidery vintage and electronic retro turned out quite organically.

Also I've set myself another task – to experiment with luminescent threads, I built in a hidden image into the pattern that can be seen only in the dark.

I am not very satisfied with these threads (DMC F940). They are 100% polyester, and are very inconvenient to work with. They are unravel quickly and fall apart into separate fibers, terribly tangled and constantly cling to everything. The light effect is not long-lasting. Conclusion: the next time I use them, I will do something with a whole strand of six threads, with long stitches.
Tips for working with light threads (expand)
Try and choose among the needles the one with the smoothest eye (by pulling a piece of thread back and forth). It is usually not affected by ordinary threads, but these tighten noticeably, clinging to microscopic irregularities.
I don't recommend conditioners for threads, they don't help much with synthetics and slightly reduce the brightness.
To prevent excessive clinging and tangling, before work you should generously use moisturizing and softening hand creams and nail oil. Wait until they are well absorbed into the skin and cuticle, wash your hands of greasy residues, wipe, and only then embroider. It helped me a lot.
I share the pattern, you can freely use it for any non-commercial purposes.
Corrected a little some small things. Here are 2 indexed png files in 9 colors (with black) and 8 colors with a transparent background. Scale 1 cross = 4 pixels. You can load and use this image with some pattern maker, for example with FlossCross. Mark the checkbox "pixelart", size 221x221 crosses, 9 colors (or 8 for transparent)
